With the increasing global librelisation of today's businesses, there arises the need of the automotive component parts industry to build itself to be world class competitors to meet the challenges ahead. Cross border investments, strategic alliance for co-production and technology sharing arrangements will become increasingly important to the industry.

The trend is also towards production of world-based products through commonisation of design and specification of parts and compliance with the interantional quality standards of not only ISO 9000 but also national standards eg national safety, product liability laws and regulations of the export markets.

The Malaysia automotive component industry must position itself to participate in the global collaboration in R & D through building our technological capacity by integrating the best from these technologies for product innovation and development .

It is also forseeable in the near future that components manufactured will have to comply with environmental issues such as recyclability of parts, reduction of emission and ISO 14000 which deals with environmental management system and ability to conduct environmental audit and performance evaluation.

Towards this end, MACPMA will continue to strengthen its role in providing the support to members through the dissemination of information, organisation of various activities and training so as promote the interest of the industry. In this respect, we hope that this Directory will provide the link for the establishment of business opportunities and networking in the automotive component parts industry.
